Residential Off-Peak Advantage Application

BEMC’s Off-Peak Advantage (OPA) Rates reward members with a lower electric rate for shifting energy-intensive tasks – such as heating/cooling, doing laundry and running your dishwasher – away from peak hours.

This rate plan encourages you to shift your electricity use to periods of low demand, or during off-peak hours, by paying less per kilowatt-hour (kWh) than our standard energy usage charge.

The OPA Rate can help you save money based on your ability to shift energy away from peak time.

Eligibility

Are you a BEMC member?

BEMC's Off-Peak Advantage rate is only available for BEMC members.

Were you previously enrolled in the Off-Peak Advantage rate within the last 6 months?

You must wait 6 months to reapply for the Off-Peak Advantage rate.

Are you participating in our Connect to Save thermostat program?

Thermostat program participants are ineligible for the Off-Peak Advantage rate, please email connect2save@bemc.org for more information.

Do you have solar installed or plan to have solar installed?

The Off-Peak Advantage cannot be paired with solar rates, please email netmeter@bemc.org for more information.

Do you receive a monthly bill or are you on Prepay billing?

You must receive a monthly bill to be eligible for the Off-Peak Advantage rate.

I understand that after being enrolled in Off-Peak Advantage, if I have a change in circumstance or find that the rate is not a good option for my lifestyle, I can switch back to a standard rate. In doing so, I understand there will be no billing adjustments made on the account and I will not be permitted to switch back to the Off-Peak Advantage rate for 6 months.
