Peace River Electric Cooperative is looking for students to serve as delegates for the 2027 Youth Tour. Two student representatives will be sponsored  to be a delegate and join more than 1,800 young people from across the U.S. to participate in the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour June 17-22, 2027. Students tour Washington, D.C., meet legislators on Capitol Hill, learn how our system of government works and discover the importance of electric cooperatives in the local community. Peace River Electric Cooperative sponsors two students for this week-long adventure, all-expenses-paid.

Am I eligible to apply?

You must (1) currently be an 11th grader

     (2) attend an approved high school in PRECO’s service area


How do I Enter?

  1. Submit: Completed application and video submission
  2. Video Submission: 1.  Submit a 1.5–3 minute video telling us why you’d be a great Youth Tour representative for Peace River Electric Cooperative. Tell us what excites you about the trip, why civic engagement matters, how you've shown leadership, and why electric cooperatives are important to rural communities. Videos will be judged on message, communication skills, creativity, and professionalism. Let your personality shine—we’re looking for curious leaders ready to make an impact!

  3. Video format: Please upload your video to a sharing site such as YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, etc. and provide the link in the application.

  4. Attach: Letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor


What is the Deadline?

Must be received no later than January 8th, 2027


Sorry, only 11th graders are eligible for the Youth Tour.

Attach a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor on school letterhead.

Attach an appropriate, high-quality color headshot photo. Minimum file size: 1 MB.

Parent/Guardian Permission

I have my parent/guardian(s) permission to participate in the Washington D.C Youth Tour event and to travel to Washington D.C. on June 17-22, 2027, if selected as a delegate.



If chosen as a semi-finalist, you will be invited for an in-person interview. PRECO will select two student delegates to be chosen for an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C.
