Construction Application

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for contacting Cowlitz PUD and inquiring about a new electric service.

ATTENTION: Expect delays for new service connections. Construction material costs and procurement lead times have risen drastically in the past twelve months. Please be advised this will impact your project's timing and total cost.

To begin the construction process, please complete the application below. Please note that we require all service wire from Cowlitz PUD’s primary pole to your meter to be underground and in conduit. The applicant is responsible for all trenching and conduit that is not in a public right of way.

Deposits

New and returning applicants with unsatisfactory utility payment history may be required to pay a deposit at the time of application.

If a deposit is required, a customer service representative will reach out to the customer to set up the deposit payment after the application process is completed.

Note: any deviation from the electrical design, once established, may result in additional costs for redesign, and construction may be delayed. It is the customer’s responsibility to provide all the necessary PUD requirements and specifications to the subcontractor.

If the original easement documents haven’t been returned with notarized signatures of all parties, your job will not be released for construction until they are received. This could cause long delays in the construction process.

Initial Application Fee – Non-Refundable

$100 - Modification

$200 – Residential

$200 – Per Unit with a max of $3,000

$200 – Commercial

The final step of this application is payment of the application fee (applied toward job cost) and signing our terms and conditions, which is required before the application can be submitted. We accept major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.

Distributed Generation Addition (solar, wind, hydro) requires a separate application and fee.
