As of January 1, 2024, VEC is partnering with Efficiency Vermont to offer a single point of purchase incentive through participating vendors. However, qualifying pellet stoves that did not receive this incentive can apply directly to VEC for a $200 bill credit.
To qualify, the pellet stove must 1) be installed in a building using an existing fossil fuel-fired heating system (ie not electric or wood); and 2) meet the following emissions criteria: < 2 g/hr of PM2
If your home or business is weatherized, you may qualify for an additional $150. You must submit documentation that the building meets one of the following criteria:
- Completed Home Performance with Energy Star project with Efficiency Vermont
- Received weatherization through the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) since 2005 or are currently enrolled in WAP
- Received a 2011 or newer Residential Energy Standards (2011 RBES) certificate
- Had a blower door test performed with a maximum measured Air Changes per Hour (ACH) of less than 5 at 50 Pascals
