This application should be completed as soon as possible and returned to the Egyptian Electric Cooperative (EECA) Engineering Department to begin processing the request. In addition to the items listed above, please attach a detailed one-line diagram of the proposed facility, all applicable elementary diagrams, major equipment, (generators, transformers, inverters, circuit breakers, protective relays, etc.) specifications, test reports, etc., and any other applicable drawings or documents necessary for the proper design of the interconnection. Also describe the project’s planned operating mode (e.g., combined heat and power, peak shaving, etc.), and its address or grid coordinates.

The following items below have been implemented to the interconnection requirements. Please select that these requirements have been met.


EECA requires a visible, lockable, labeled AC disconnect for interconnection. The AC disconnect must have:

A visual break (with external handle) that is appropriate to the voltage level
Be accessible
Is capable of being locked in the open position
Be located within 10ft of EECA meter unless engineering approval


The inverter is not to be interconnected to the utility until it has passed commissioning and has EECA approval.
Each account will pay monthly service availability fee, metering charge, delivery charge, delivery cost adjustment, demand charge, and taxes regardless of the amount of kWh generated
Each account may pay energy charge and power cost adjustment fees.
If the inverter maximum output is over 40 amps, the interconnection shall be a line side tap within 4 feet of the meter base with a weatherproof junction box and A.N.S.I. approved splices provided by the installer. This will need to be coordinated with the EECA Engineering Department.
All PV systems shall be equipped with a rapid shut down.
A correct one-line-diagram with site plan is to be submitted.
If there is a current EECA pedestal at the service location, members will be required to build a meter structure to EECA specifications. The coop will remove the pedestal.


If tying (connecting) into a meter on an EECA pole, installers must go underground and come up in the bottom of the disconnect. No generation associated equipment may be installed on an EECA pole.


No interconnection may be made unless there is a disconnect installed on the meter and there are no safety violations with the service.
All systems shall be installed per the most current National Electric Code.
When/if installing a ground-mount PV system, solar panels shall not be located within 10 feet of any primary underground electric services.
Installers shall be present upon final interconnection inspection (witness test) with EECA. At this time EECA personnel will set the net & production meters.
Distributed Generation standards 1547, 1547.1, 1647.9, and UL Standard 1741 are met.
Solar offset can be no more than 115% of the last three (3) years average usage. In the instance of new service with no prior usage, systems will be limited to 10kW AC.

Terms and Conditions

Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association is the governing body for interconnection within our territory. The Engineering & Operations Department may require more than is listed if deemed necessary by site.

Please allow 1-2 weeks from the time your contractor has completed the system installation, and notified EECA, for the engineering and metering department to coordinate and set-up the inspection. After inspection and approval, the meters will be installed.

Prior to any interconnection activity, installers will need approval from the EECA Engineering Department. This is to verify the interconnection will be approved and to verify that no additional equipment and/or service upgrade is needed by the EECA member.

SIGN OFF AREA

The member-owner agrees to provide EECA with any additional information required to complete the interconnection. The member-owner shall operate equipment within the guidelines set forth by EECA.
