2026 High School Scholarship Program

Garkane Energy Cooperative, Inc. is pleased to offer a scholarship program to assist youth in pursuing their higher education goals. Up to a total of 22 - $1,000 scholarship awards will be given. Two scholarship awards will go to outstanding applicants in Garkane’s eleven board of director districts

Eligibility and Application Requirements
1. Applicant must be the child or legal dependent of a member of Garkane Energy Cooperative, Inc. at the time of application and award.
2. Applicant must be a Senior in high school.
3. Applicant must complete and submit the attached scholarship application in full, including any required attachments to arrive no later than April 4, 2025.
4. This scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable. Students receiving a scholarship as a high school senior cannot apply the following year as a college freshman.
5. Dependents of Garkane Energy employees or directors are not eligible for the scholarship award.

Selection Criteria

Garkane’s Board of Directors will select scholarship recipients based on scholastic achievement, financial need, extracurricular and service activities, and the essay required in the scholarship application. Scholarship awards will be sent to the recipient’s school of choice or paid directly to the recipient on a reimbursement basis.

* If there are no qualified applicants from a particular director district a recipient will be chosen from another district.
