2027 Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative Scholarship  & Youth Tour Application

Eligibility Information
The scholarship is available for children and legal dependents of active Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative members.  Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Candidates must provide account number from current electric bill and three community service activities.

Youth Tour (optional)
Win a trip to the NRECA Youth Tour of Washington, D.C. All expenses paid! Value: $2,800!
All applicants are invited to apply for the NRECA Youth Tour of Washington, D.C.
Delegate(s) will be selected to represent Polk-Burnett for the Youth Tour in a random drawing. All candidates who apply and meet scholarship eligibility will be entered into the drawing.
About Youth Tour
More than 1,500 students from all across America take part in the Youth Tour experience each year and so can you! Travel to Washington, D.C., where you will meet your U.S. Representatives and Senators. This unique trip will give you the opportunity to watch history come alive as you explore teh museums, memorials and monuments with students from your state. You'll make friendships and have experiences that will last a lifetime!

Application for Youth Tour Requirements
Upload a document with the following information:
  1. Your name
  2. Your birth date (needed for confirmation to tour coordinator)
  3. Your answers to two essay questions below. Essays should be about 250 words each and written in your own words (no AI).
    1. Why do you want to be Polk-Burnett's delegate for the Youth Tour of Washington, D.C.?
    2. Polk-Burnett is a rural electric cooperative and has delivered electricity to local co-op members since 1938. What value do electric cooperatives bring to your life and our local communities?
