Shift to Save Smart Thermostat Program

The Shift to Save Smart Thermostat Program is designed to help reduce electricity demand during high-use periods while still maintaining household comfort. When extreme weather or high electricity demand is expected, program participants will receive a request to allow a temporary thermostat adjustment of a few degrees for no more than four hours. Members remain in control and can opt out or override adjustments at any time. The co-op will request a temporary adjustment no more than 20 times each year.

San Isabel Electric is looking to give away a free smart thermostat with free professional installation to the first 30 members that sign up for the Shift to Save Smart Thermostat Pilot Program. The pilot program is limited to 30 participants.

Already have a smart thermostat?

The Shift to Save Smart Thermostat Program is open to members who already have a smart thermostat installed or who want to purchase and install their own smart thermostat. Members who bring their own thermostat are eligible for a one-time $50 sign-up incentive as well as the annual $25 bill credit. Additionally, a $50 smart thermostat rebate is available for newly purchased, wi-fi enabled ENERGY STAR certified equipment for members enrolled in the Shift to Save Smart Thermostat Program.
Program Requirements and Eligiblity
Please fill out this form to apply for the Shift to Save Smart Thermostat Program. To enroll, you must be a SIEA member and be enrolled in, or sign-up for, the Off-Peak Plus Rate.


The Off-Peak Plus Rate is great for households that can avoid using electricity between the hours of 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Monday - Saturday. This rate may not be a good fit for households that use even a moderate amount of electricity during the on-peak times.

Member-owners on this rate get nearly half-price electricity for 20 hours a day Monday – Saturday and all day Sunday!
 
IS OFF-PEAK PLUS RIGHT FOR YOU?
It’s important to note, the Off-Peak Plus rate is not a great option for everyone. However, it's an excellent way to potentially save some money if you can avoid using power during the 4-hour on-peak window (5 - 9 p.m. Monday - Saturday) when electricity is more expensive.

  • Commercial Accounts
  • Members enrolled in Budget Billing or Pre Paid programs

Minimum Term
If you are approved to be on the Off-Peak Plus rate, you must stay on the rate for at least one year. Member must stay on Off-Peak Plus for a minimum of 12 months.
