Essentially, this document says you are applying for membership and agreeing to purchase your electricity from Southwestern Electric Cooperative, upon the following terms and conditions:
1. Upfront Fees: You agree to pay a $15 fee. This is to cover the membership and processing fees.
2. The Business Applicant will be required to pay a Security Deposit. The deposit required for this account shall remain on deposit with the Cooperative for the duration of the account. The deposit will not be automatically refunded or applied to the account based on payment history or length of service. The deposit will be refunded or applied only after the account has been permanently closed, all outstanding charges have been paid in full, and any remaining balance has been determined in accordance with the Cooperative's applicable policies.
3. You agree to abide by provisions included in Southwestern Electric’s Certificate of Incorporation, and the bylaws of the Cooperative, as well as future bylaw amendments.
4. You assume no personal liability or responsibility for debts or liabilities of the Cooperative. It is understood that your property cannot be attached for debts or liabilities of the Cooperative.
5. Cooperative employees and representatives may need to access your premises to ensure quality of service to you and other members. By signing this agreement, you are granting them permission to do that.
6. By signing this agreement, you agree to provide Southwestern with all necessary rights-of-way and easements to construct and maintain the Cooperative’s facilities, which are used in full or in part to provide electric service to you and other members of the Cooperative.
7. In order to service your account or collect amounts you may owe, we may contact you by telephone at any telephone number associated with your account, including wireless telephone numbers, which could result in charges to you. We may also contact you by sending text messages or emails, using any email address you provide us. Methods of contact may include using prerecorded or artificial voice messages and/or the use of an automatic dialing device, as applicable. By signing this membership application, you agree to these provisions.
8. Application Requirement: We cannot provide you with electric service until you complete, sign, and return this membership application and pay any required deposit.
