Terms of Service

1. The undersigned (hereinafter called the "Applicant") hereby applies for membership in and agrees to purchase electric energy from the Eastern Iowa Light & Power Cooperative (hereinafter called the "Cooperative").
2. It is understood by the applicant that no action will be taken on this application until the membership fee of ten dollars ($10.00) has been paid to the office of the Cooperative, along with any other fees required by Cooperative rules and regulations.
3. The Cooperative agrees to extend its lines to serve the applicant in accordance with the Cooperative rules and policies in effect at the time the application is received at the Cooperative office accompanied by the membership fee.
4. The member agrees to be placed on the Cooperative's Temporary Disconnected Services rate (Rate Code 8 or 81) at the time that service is made available to them and will be billed the applicable monthly fee at that time.  The member will be moved to the appropriate rate code once service begins regular use.
5. The Cooperative reserves the right to cancel or refuse this application where it is not feasible to extend its lines to the applicant. In this case, the cost of the field investigation may be charged against the membership fee. The remainder of the fee will be refunded. 
6. The applicant agrees to sign all forms required such as but not limited to the application for electric service, easement if required and excavation agreement. The applicant may be required to provide the legal description of their property if an easement is required.
7. The member agrees to abide by the Articles of Incorporation and the Bylaws, as they are duly amended from time to time, and such rules and regulations as are adopted by the Board of Directors of this Cooperative.

All applicants are required to provide a Letter of Credit from a current/previous utility provider stating 
good credit history (or a will be charged a deposit fee) as well as a copy of their photo ID.
