All rebates are capped at 70% of total actual job cost or the approved amount, whichever is less.
If the rebate is determined to be less, based on the information provided, compared to what was applied for, the lower amount will be paid.
Customer Invoices must reflect the following:
1. The customer name and address of install
2. The make and model of each piece of equipment
3. The total cost to the customer
Single Family includes buildings with four or fewer residences. Rebates are available at one or possibly more per residence. For example, homes that have two separately ducted heat pump systems qualify for 2 rebates when both systems are being replaced. Consult a Columbia REA Energy Specialist for multiple rebate approval.
Multi-Family includes buildings with more than four residences and three or fewer stories. Preapproval by Columbia REA is required.
The word “Home” as used in this document refers to the electrically heated living space within
the residence. It does not include attached garages, unheated basements and porch areas or outbuildings.
All systems must be installed or approved by a licensed contractor, in accordance with
manufacturer specifications, including adherence to proper refrigerant charging. The contractor
must be on the Columbia REA approved contractor list or have received manufacturer approved
installation training.
Zonal heating includes electric, non-ducted: ceiling cable, wall, baseboard, plug-in and an electric boiler/water heater attached to a zoned
hydronic floor heating system.
Ductless Heat Pumps (DHP or Mini-Split)
1. Rebates are not available for spaces conditioned with centrally ducted systems. Existing single family residential additions where the primary electric or nonelectric system’s duct work has not been extended to the addition and/or
where the current heating source in the addition is electric zonal are eligible for a Ductless Heat Pump.
2. Zonal electric or forced-air electric resistance heat as the primary heating source only.
Not eligible for replacing Wood, Oil, Propane, Gas primary heat or existing Ductless.
3. Multi-head Ductless Heat Pumps, multi ducted mini-splits and combination installs in New & Existing Manufactured Homes or New Single
Family Homes may be eligible for a single indoor head DHP or single ducted DHP incentive.
