1. Are you a member of the Cooperative?

2. A Director is responsible for, and must actively participate in, the governance of the business and affairs of the Cooperative. The Board of Directors of the Cooperative is quite active. It is anticipated that you will spend a minimum of 25 days, on an annual basis, at meetings of the Board of Directors, General Membership, committees, and other bodies as well as training, conferences, and workshops. (The biggest share of meetings are during the week when many people must be at work.) Are you able to commit to that amount of time to be actively involved in the affairs of the Cooperative?

3. Are you employed by, or financially interested in a company which competes with the Cooperative, sells energy or supplies to the Cooperative?

If yes, please explain.

4. A Director has a duty of loyalty to the Cooperative and a fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the Cooperative and its members as the Director reasonably believes to be the case under the circumstances. In connection with those duties, please answer the following questions. Will you be able to act in the best interests of the Cooperative even though the act of the Cooperative may conflict with your personal interest?

Residency Declaration

As required by the Bylaws, I declare that, as defined and outlined in the Bylaws:

I maintain Residency and Use a Cooperative Service at a Location within the Director District for which I am being nominated and could potentially be elected.

This Residence must either be the location where I claim my homestead property tax exemption or the address indicated on my current, valid driver's license.

Board Profile Information

Upon being certified as a nominee, your board profile information is published, exactly as written, in the September issue of Texas Co-Op Power and with the mailed ballots as well as other election documents.

Profile must be submitted online. Staff is not permitted to type any election material on behalf of any individual.
Language on the profile cannot be read to or reviewed by Medina EC staff for input.
Photo cannot have any logos anywhere in the image and cannot be a photo that an employee or a contractor by Medina EC has taken. Photo must be high quality, portrait style orientation and only the candidate can be in the photo.
If an individual prefers the cooperative use the individual's photo that was submitted in a previous election, the request must be sent in writing.
Email addresses cannot contain the words Medina, Medina Electric, Medina EC, MEC or anything that can be associated with Medina Electric Cooperative.

Board Election Campaign Policy

I am a potential nominee for the position of director on the Board of Directors of Medina Electric Cooperative (Cooperative) for the 2026 election. I hereby acknowledge that I have read the attached Board Election Campaign Policy presented by the Cooperative and I declare that:

I have not commenced any campaign activities for election to the Cooperative’s Board of Directors before signing this acknowledgement;

I understand the structure and governing principles of the Cooperative form of business;

I have read and agree to abide by the attached Board Election Campaign Policy and any other election rules or policies the Cooperative provides;

I will seek clarification from the Cooperative’s election coordinator when I have a question about the applicability of the attached policy or any other rule or policy the Cooperative provides;

I affirm that I have read the attached policy and that if I choose to accept any campaign contributions or incur campaign expenses and earnings or spend personal funds, I am required to execute a Disclosure Report.

By submitting this form, you are certifying that you are the nominee named and eligible to serve as a nominee to the Board of Directors of Medina Electric Cooperative.

You affirm that your residence is located in the same Director District for which you are being nominated.

You affirm that all information is true and accurate.

Submitting this form does not guarantee a spot on the ballot. To be eligible, you must complete the online petition process and obtain 30 valid signatures from members of your voting district by March 2. All potential nominees will be reviewed and certified at the April board meeting. Only certified nominees will be declared official candidates and added to the 2026 election ballot.
